Quality Monitoring System of EURO-QUALIFLEX Association

Quality of metal bellows, metal expansion joints and metal hoses is very important.

Why?

Flexible elements are essential components for all application fields and the user must be sure that by using these elements

  • the application risks are minimised
  • extreme requirements can be fulfilled
  • durability and reliability of the products are provided.

The EURO-QUALIFLEX Quality Monitoring System is a reliable basis for the realisation of these targets.I.

I. Quality requirements which are guaranteed by the EURO-QUALIFLEX Label

Quality requires from the manufacturer to use ability, knowledge and experience
in a responsible and reliable way.

This applies especially for the most important steps in the manufacturing and assembling process of the usually thin-walled flexible elements:

  • Calculation
  • Design
  • Selection of raw material and components
  • Forming
  • Welding
  • Assembling
  • Testing procedures
  • Quality management

General requirements

Each of the following general quality requirements has to be fulfilled by the member companies:

  • Manufacturer has to be member of EURO-QUALIFLEX Association
  • Manufacturers of flexible elements, like metal hoses, expansion joints, bellows and automotive parts, have to maintain a certified quality management system according to ISO 9001 for at least 3 years

Special requirements which guarantee constant quality for each product

Each of the following special quality requirements has to be proved by audits of notified bodies according to the quality management system ISO 9001 for the total product range:

  • Design and calculation according to each technical requirement as the European directives and standards and/or Customer requests as PED, EN standards, ISO standards, if applicable
  • Selection of qualified suppliers
  • Validated manufacturing methods
  • Reliable own forming equipments
  • Assessed welding procedures
  • Qualified welders
  • Suitable testing procedures and equipment to fulfil the requested technical standards
  • Appropriate product liability insurance

II. How to get and maintain the EURO-QUALIFLEX Label

The criteria described under I. are the minimum quality requirements to obtain the EURO-QUALIFLEX Label.

  • The manufacturer has to be a member of the EURO-QUALIFLEX Association according the application procedure of the statutes
  • The manufacturer has to provide a certified Quality management system according to ISO 9001 (at least) for the past 3 years
  • The manufacturer has to fulfil the audit of a Notified body regarding the EURO-QUALIFLEX quality criteria defined under point I
